New York Fashion Week: 6 fall style trends you need to know about

The 6 biggest street style trends for fall fresh from New York Fashion Week

This season, New York Fashion Week has attracted a host of world stars thanks to numerous shows by international designers such as Fendi and Marni. It’s easy to see that New York’s love for Fendi’s Baguette bag and miniskirt still lives on 25 years later. Phil Oh was on location at New York Fashion Week to photograph the best-dressed models, actors, editors, designers and more. From tie dye to jeans to knitwear, it was all there during the Spring/Summer 2023 show.

The following trends were mostly observed:

#1 Leather Knee High Boots:

It starts with the most important footwear for autumn/winter 2022 – leather boots. This year they can be found in all variations, whether with stiletto heels, platform heels or, according to the latest trend, with Cuban heels.

line number 2:

Stripes are everywhere, both vertically and horizontally. They look especially good in sweatpants, denim, knitwear and Y2K tube tops. There are no limits to this classic model.

Service #3:

Work clothes are one of the most important trends of recent years. Cargo pants and vests in particular correspond to this style, but jumpsuits and jackets are also equipped with large rectangular pockets.

#4 Skin:

It doesn’t matter if it’s a leather jacket, shoes, pants or accessories: This material can be combined with everything for the cold season and also looks very cool. But street style stars prefer to walk the New York Fashion Week shows in a full head-to-toe leather outfit – a real eye-catcher.

#5 maxi dresses and maxi skirts:

Speaking of the total look: the absolute no-brainer for this season is definitely the maxi dress. This one even got a new cut – short in the front, long in the back. This way it falls especially nicely and you still show off your legs, even in autumn!

Of course, the maxi skirt is also seen everywhere, in all versions. From tie-dye to pleated to color blocking, it’s all covered—and the same goes here: stripes always work.

#6 Canadian Tuxedo:

Last but not least, the all-denim look that reminds us of Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake’s outfits at the 2001 American Music Awards. Back then, Spears wore a spotted denim dress and Timberlake wore a suit and hat cowboys made of the same cloth. One thing is clear: this sight will never be forgotten.
